Alcohol Awareness Training

​This workshop is designed to provide participants with an understanding of alcohol, as well as the motivations and risks associated with it’s use in student populations. ​

The course covers:​

  • An overview of the research on student’s alcohol use, including motivations and risks​
  • How to discuss alcohol use with students​
  • How to run alcohol awareness events​
  • Responding to an alcohol-related emergency​
  • Ensuring the campus is inclusive for non-drinkers​

By the end of this training, participants will feel confident in their knowledge of alcohol use in student communities.​

Who is this training for? This training is appropriate for both students’ union and university staff and provides the opportunity to connect with staff from other institutions who are working on alcohol use in student communities.

When and where is this training taking place? The training will take place 14:00 - 16:00 on the 19th March 2025 with a comfort break included. The training will take place online.
