Drugs Awareness Training

​This online workshop is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the different types of drugs, as well as the motivations and risks associated with their use in student populations. ​

The course covers:​

  • Different types of drugs and how these are legally regulated​
  • The effects of common drugs​
  • An overview of the research on student drug use including motivations and risks​
  • How to respond to a drug-related emergency​
  • What drug-related harm reduction means and what universities and university staff are permitted to do within the law.​

By the end of this training, participants will feel confident in their knowledge of drug use in student communities.​

Who is this training for? This training is appropriate for both students’ union and university staff and provides the opportunity to connect with staff from other institutions who are working towards harm reduction approach to drug use.

When and where is this training taking place? The training will take place 14:00 - 16:00 on the 12th February 2025 with a comfort break included. The training will take place online.
